Believing in yourself is more important than others believing in you

I used to wait for permission from others; a sign, word or phrase from someone showing belief in me.

But why?

Why wait for someone else to believe in me before I believe in me?

And if others believe in me but I don’t believe in myself, what would it matter?

If a hundred people believed in me but I didn’t believe in myself, you know what that would do? It would create a ton of pressure on me that I wouldn’t be able to take.

The key then is to first believe in ourselves… and to do it regardless if others believe in us.

When we can hold our own foundation of self belief, no pressure from the external can shake us.

Then when others believe in us, we won’t self sabotage. And when others don’t believe in us, we won’t self pity ourselves. It won’t matter either way.

The foundation and core of us is built on our belief in ourselves.

It doesn’t matter what anyone else believes about us. It matters what we believe about ourselves.

And the more conviction and strength in our own self belief we have, it will shine out naturally upon others. But any doubt will also shine through. So find the doubts and plug them up. Create a rock solid foundation of self belief, surrounded by love, that is impenetrable.
