When Learning Something New

What Happens When Learning Something New?

If you’re Learning Something New, if you’re just listening, you’re going to retain about 10% of what you’re hearing. If you listen and take notes, you could retain up to 50% of what you’re hearing. If you listen and take notes but also engage the body you can learn up to and retain up to 90% of what you’re hearing.

When Learning Something New

So what do I mean by the body, it’s you adding movement. So if you learn a new concept, uh maybe you don’t do it in school or wherever you are, but at home like, like just like walk around, move the body around as you say the concept and you’ll retain it more because you’re generating emotion, you’re generating energy.

Um and you’re gonna retain it more. But if you’re just sitting there, it’s gonna kind of, you’ll hear it, you’ll hear it and then it’ll, it won’t really stick. If you’re doing a little bit of writing that’s better. But do listen, right, and then move your body around, do jumping jacks, get the body involved, go on walks when you’re listening to audiobooks. Um, that’s going to help you retain the information even better.
